There is a group on Yahoo that deals with automation and animation on scale model layouts. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Layout_Automation/.
This group has numerous people on it and the messages thee deal with bringing life to your layout. The ideas here are from that list and any other list or news group that I find the ideas on. Now all the ideas are ideas and have not be approved by insurance companies so use the ideas at your own risk. The ones that someone has made work for them will have links showing the basic how they did it and you can try it
